WEBSITE BACKUP & RECOVERY
Keep a Recoverable Copy Outside the Day-to-Day Website Environment.
A useful backup is not just another copy of the live website. CodeGuard creates a separate backup history so files and supported databases can be recovered when content is deleted, changed, corrupted or otherwise needs to be rolled back.
Differential backups after the first copy
After the initial website backup, CodeGuard can identify changed or new files so later backup operations do not always need to copy the entire website again.
Change monitoring
Track additions, modifications and deletions between website versions so unexpected changes are easier to identify.
Restore previous website versions
Use the available CodeGuard restore options to return files or website content to a previously backed-up state.
Website and supported database backup
CodeGuard can protect website files and supported databases when the required connection credentials and database environment are compatible.
Independent off-site backup
CodeGuard stores backup data separately from the website hosting environment, giving you an additional recovery copy outside the live site itself.

HOW CODEGUARD WORKS
Connect. Back Up. Monitor. Restore.
CodeGuard connects securely to the website, creates the initial backup, tracks later changes and keeps earlier versions available for the restore options supported by the service.
Connect the website
CodeGuard requires the website access needed to retrieve files. MarketConnect can automate SFTP or FTP setup for supported hosting environments, while other setups may require manual connection.
Create the initial backup
CodeGuard retrieves the selected website content and creates the first backup copy before it begins comparing later versions.
Monitor changes and back up updates
Later backups can identify changed, added or deleted files so website versions and changes can be tracked over time.
Restore when needed
Use the restore options available in CodeGuard to recover all or part of the website from an earlier backed-up version.
WHY A SEPARATE WEBSITE BACKUP MATTERS
A Hosting Backup and an Independent Recovery Copy Are Not the Same Thing.
Your hosting provider may already create backups, but an independent backup service adds another recovery layer outside the normal hosting workflow. The goal is not to replace every hosting backup—it is to reduce dependence on a single recovery path.
Separate from the live website
CodeGuard keeps the backup service outside the website's normal day-to-day file environment so the recovery copy is not simply the live site itself.
Track what changed
A version history and change monitoring can help identify when website files were added, modified or deleted.
Restore instead of rebuilding
When a suitable earlier backup exists, restoring files or website content can be faster and more practical than rebuilding everything manually.
Useful beyond accidental deletion
Backups can help recovery after failed updates, damaged files, unwanted changes or other incidents where an earlier website version is required.
CODEGUARD WEBSITE BACKUP QUESTIONS
Website Backup Questions Before You Choose a CodeGuard Plan.
CodeGuard is a website-backup service that keeps copies of website content outside the live website environment. It can automate backups, track file changes and provide restore options so earlier website versions are available when recovery is needed.
CodeGuard connects to the website using supported file-access credentials, creates an initial backup and then tracks later changes. For compatible GrabbyHost/MarketConnect setups, parts of the connection and provisioning process can be automated.
CodeGuard supports automated website backup workflows. The exact backup frequency and storage available should be confirmed from the current GrabbyHost CodeGuard plan you are ordering rather than assumed to be identical across every product.
Yes. CodeGuard provides website-restore options that can be used to recover backed-up content from an earlier version. The exact restore method and success depend on the available backup, website state and connection to the target hosting environment.
CodeGuard supports database backup for compatible database systems when the necessary credentials and network access are available. Database connectivity can require a separate setup from website-file access.
No. Website backup is primarily a recovery layer. It helps keep earlier website copies available when content or files need to be restored. Malware scanning, proactive threat protection, uptime monitoring and HTTPS address different risks.
The current WHMCS MarketConnect CodeGuard service does not provide a standard free or trial plan through the reseller catalogue. Use the current GrabbyHost plan section for the active commercial options available to order.
Start with the amount of website data you need to protect, then compare the storage and other verified limits of the currently available GrabbyHost CodeGuard plans. Choose enough capacity for the website and its backup history rather than selecting only by the lowest price.
