Moving a domain from Namecheap to GrabbyHost only takes a few steps. This guide covers unlocking your domain and getting its EPP code in Namecheap, then completing the transfer at GrabbyHost.
Step 1: Get Your EPP Code from Namecheap
- Sign in to your Namecheap account.
- Go to Domain List and click Manage next to the domain you want to transfer.
- Select the Sharing & Transfer tab.
- In the Transfer Out section, unlock the domain, then request the Auth/EPP code. You'll be asked for a reason for transferring.
- The authorization code will be sent to the domain's registrant email address (which may differ from your Namecheap account email) — check your inbox for it.
Note: the domain must be more than 60 days old and not transferred within the last 60 days to be eligible.
Step 2: Start the Transfer at GrabbyHost
- Log in to your GrabbyHost client area and go to the Domains section, or start a new order and choose Transfer My Domain.
- Enter your domain name and the EPP code you received from Namecheap.
- Complete checkout for the transfer, which includes a 1-year renewal at the new registrar.
Step 3: Approve the Transfer
Watch for a transfer confirmation email and approve it if prompted. Transfers typically complete within 5–7 days once initiated.
