How to Renew Your Domain & Enable WHOIS Privacy

Renewing before it expires.

Keeping a domain renewed on time avoids service interruption and the risk of losing it. GrabbyHost sends renewal reminder emails ahead of your domain's expiry date.

Turn on auto-renew.

• Go to Domains > My Domains in your client area and open the domain.
• Enable Auto Renew so it renews automatically using your saved payment method before it expires.

Renew manually.

If auto-renew is off, pay the renewal invoice generated ahead of the expiry date the same way you'd pay any other invoice, or renew directly from the domain's management page in your client area.

What happens if a domain expires.

An expired domain typically enters a grace period where it can still be renewed, followed by a redemption period with additional fees, before it's eventually released for anyone to register. Renewing promptly avoids both of these.

Enable WHOIS/ID Protection.

WHOIS Privacy (also called ID Protection) replaces your personal contact details in the public WHOIS record with GrabbyHost's proxy details, reducing spam and protecting your privacy. Where available for your domain's extension, you can turn it on from the same domain management page in your client area.
