WordPress is the most popular way to build a website, and GrabbyHost's cPanel hosting makes it quick to install. This guide covers installing it with the one-click installer, which is the easiest and recommended method.
Before You Start
- Make sure your domain is pointed to GrabbyHost, or that you're happy installing on a temporary URL for now.
- Decide which domain or subdomain you want WordPress installed on.
Installing WordPress via Softaculous
GrabbyHost's cPanel includes a one-click app installer (Softaculous) for WordPress and other popular scripts.
- Log in to cPanel.
- Under the Software section, click WordPress (or open Softaculous Apps Installer and search for WordPress).
- Click Install.
- Choose the protocol (https:// is recommended) and select the domain you want to install on.
- Leave the "In Directory" field blank to install at the root of the domain, or enter a folder name to install in a subdirectory.
- Fill in your Site Name and Site Description.
- Create an admin username and password — avoid using "admin" as the username for security, and choose a strong password.
- Enter an admin email address so you can receive account notifications.
- Click Install and wait for the process to complete — this usually takes under a minute.
After Installation
Once installed, you'll see links to your site and to the WordPress admin dashboard (usually at yourdomain.com/wp-admin). Log in with the admin username and password you created, and you're ready to start customizing your site with themes and plugins.
