WordPress is the most popular way to build a website, and GrabbyHost's cPanel hosting makes it quick to install. This guide covers installing it with the one-click installer, which is the easiest and recommended method.

Before You Start

  • Make sure your domain is pointed to GrabbyHost, or that you're happy installing on a temporary URL for now.
  • Decide which domain or subdomain you want WordPress installed on.

Installing WordPress via Softaculous

GrabbyHost's cPanel includes a one-click app installer (Softaculous) for WordPress and other popular scripts.

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Under the Software section, click WordPress (or open Softaculous Apps Installer and search for WordPress).
  3. Click Install.
  4. Choose the protocol (https:// is recommended) and select the domain you want to install on.
  5. Leave the "In Directory" field blank to install at the root of the domain, or enter a folder name to install in a subdirectory.
  6. Fill in your Site Name and Site Description.
  7. Create an admin username and password — avoid using "admin" as the username for security, and choose a strong password.
  8. Enter an admin email address so you can receive account notifications.
  9. Click Install and wait for the process to complete — this usually takes under a minute.

After Installation

Once installed, you'll see links to your site and to the WordPress admin dashboard (usually at yourdomain.com/wp-admin). Log in with the admin username and password you created, and you're ready to start customizing your site with themes and plugins.
